    Au Sable River
    Spanning roughly 140 mi (225 km), the Au Sable River runs through the northern Lower Peninsula and empties into Lake Huron at Oscoda. The river is a popular spot for fishing and canoeing, and cruises on a paddlewheel river boat are available.

    Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes chain, is located on the border between Canada and the United States. The lake is connected to Lake Michigan by the Straits of Mackinac, Lake Superior by the St. Marys River and Lake Erie by the St. Clair River.
